Success in Dublin for Steven Smith
(Failte Ireland Dublin Horse Show)
Success was certainly in the air at this weekend's Failte Ireland Dublin Horse Show (8th-12th August) where leading Irish event rider Steven Smith and two of his young event horses scooped fourth and fifth place in the FEHL RDS Five Year Old class.
At the world renowned international equestrian event, Steven rode Terry Johnston's Mr Maloney into fifth place after putting in a superb performance. Fourth place went to Butterfly Orchid who, although ridden by the horses' owner, has been with Steven for training. Regarded by many as a prestigious competition in the world of event horse breeding and with a large competitive field, Steven was delighted with Mr Malloney's performance. This fantastic placing follows a tremendous outing only two weeks ago where the pair were second in the Pre-Novice class at Vesey Lodge. Watch out for Steven and his string of event horses at the forthcoming Thirlestane and Blair Castle Horse Trials.
