Charlie breaks the mould when it comes to dressage...
Charlie is a traditional Cob, he belongs to Louise Newbury- Smith.
Louise bought Charlie as a project to ride whilst her main competition horse was recuperating from injury. To Louise's surprise Charlie had more than a little flair for Dressage!
Charlies trainable temperament and clean moving gait proved to be perfect for training through the ranks at Dressage. However, if Louise was to get the best from Charlie she had to ensure that he was totally comfortable, as despite his breed hardiness he liked his comfort and would readily object if anything was less than perfect.
Louise needed a saddle that she felt confident in, a saddle that would help her stay still and give good clear aids consistently. Charlie needed a very wide fitting saddle but only had a short length of back to accommodate it.
Sue Carson Saddles provided just the right saddle, a Phoenix with custom flaps and a suitable twist so that Charlies width didn't cause Louise discomfort or unbalance her.
Charlie is now working at Advanced Medium Dressage!
Charlies saddle is finished in Black, with patent cantle, diamanté inserts and white/silver trim. Beautiful.
